homebody

I really like our house. I realized I haven’t actualy posted any pics of it or anything, but it’s nice, aside from the fact that I feel like our kitchen is in a constant state of entropy no matter what. But I actually like just hanging out here, which I find myself doing much more lately. It’s kinda weird how much more… domesticated I feel…cooking and cleaning and decorating and sewing and stuff like that. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s a little odd. I’ve also become an octopus.

Octopused

It’s for Halloween obviously (although it is wearable for non Halloween occasions I suppose) but I spent the past few days working on it, and I’m really happy about how it turned out. It’s been a good way to break away from my screen and actually make something. It’s hard when so many of the things I want to work on end up being on the computer (learning After Effects, working on the Portfolio Site, etc..) Perhaps now I’ll be re-focused enough to work on my actual projects for class. I’m rather enjoying having only 2 classes to really think about, although I’m not sure if I’m working on them any more than usual. I’m just able to fill more of my time with random stuff I suppose. Or maybe crunch time just hasn’t started yet since we’re just at the begining of the big projects. Okay, time to work on stuff.

side note: All Recipes is awesome. I can’t even imagine the days of using COOKBOOKS where you had to like manually search through the very limited contents and not have tons of other people rate the recipe’s worth right there.

Italy Doodle Diary

The Italy Doodle Diary is up! I have a nice pdf version that’s all set up to print off as a nice little booklet, because sometimes it’s nice to have tangible things to look at. If you want one of those let me know and I’d be happy to print one up for you or send you the pdfs so you can do it yourself. The print version is nice and high rez and has a few bonus pages as well, including a nice little key of characters. Or you can just look at them here in their 72 dpi glory. Wait for everything to load, then click on the image. To move back and forth click on the left and right of the images.

YouTube madness

I posted my Music Flipbook that I made freshman year to YouTube a few months ago and today it passed the 100,000 views mark. That is so crazy. It’s kinda inspiring I suppose, makes me want to make more stuff. Ideas are a bubblin.

Also, in other news: I finally put air in my bike tires and took it for a ride! It’s been a while… It was a really nice day for it too. Went down to Greenlake and Rosevelt, which isn’t really that far for most people I suppose ( I mean, Jasmine rode her bike to Bothell and back the other day) but the little hills kicked my ass. I was proud of myself though cause I didn’t have to walk my bike at all, I just putted along slowly. It occured to me today that this was probably the first time I’ve ever had my tires fully pumped. Apparently my standards for “full of air” were much lower than the recomended levels. It made for a much nicer ride and got me excited to ride it around more. I think having Jasmine & Heidi here makes me want to ride mine more too. I am just terrified of riding in the street with cars still. And now my areas from my knees to my waist are kinda sore so I’m walking kinda wobbly. horray!
