Friday was my last day at HAI (i standing for the interactive dept). It’s kinda sad cause there are a lot of neat little projects that are coming up that would be fun to work on. There was some talk of maybe letting me help out on some other stuff later on as freelance but that’s not for sure or anything. It’s sort of weird, I think I was just starting to feel pretty comfortable around everyone. Seems that’s just the way things work, just as I’m getting use to something the next thing I know it’s gone. I suppose that’s not actually a bad thing though. Keeps things from getting stagnant and makes life a little more interesting. But I think overall it was really good experience for me and I enjoyed my time there.
Ratatouille
Friday night we went to see Ratatouille, which was pretty damn amazing and quite possibly one of my fav. Pixar movies. Their 3D stuff is so amazing now. All the intricate textures of the metals and woods and ingredients in the food were really gorgeous. I liked that they made the Rats move like rats should, scurrying about and all. And I really like the messaging in the story. There’s a really good line where Remy says something along the lines of “But I don’t want to just take. I want to create and add something new to the world.” I’d have to see it again to get it exact, but I really like the emphasis on creating versus merely consuming.
Ahead
I start the new internship tomorrow at DK! I’m really excited although I’m not really sure what to expect even though I talked to them about it a few times. Last night I dreamed that it was my first day and my desk was too high for me to reach. It was weird. Anyways, hopefully it will go well!
